MISSION
The Concert Series at St. Monica - St. Elizabeth of Hungary - St. Stephen of Hungary was created back in 2019 with the intention of providing a platform that will feature established and emerging musical artists to the Yorkville area. Now going into our 4th season, we hope to further grow the series and continue to provide a musical, cultural hub that will benefit our community from the very young to the very old.
THE SERIES FORMAT
The October, November & April concerts feature guests artists from the tristate area.
The December concert is our Traditional Christmas Concert featuring our Adult & Children's Choirs with the St. Monica Chamber Ensemble.
Organ Refurbishment Concert - Kent Tritle
We are having a very special organ concert on March 10th at 7pm. This is a ticketed event so please see details on the events page for RSVP.
The May concert is our Broadway Concert and features our professional cantors and choral section leaders with a special guest performance by our Children's Choir.
The June concert, Songs for Peace 4 will feature our Adult & Children's Choirs with the St. Monica Chamber Ensemble. Inspirational readings, thoughts and quotes are interspersed throughout the program read by our lectors.

THE CONCERT SERIES 2022 -2023
Welcome to the fifth season of The Concert Series. This series features established and emerging artists offering Yorkville a concert series which ranges from classical to contemporary music. With the exception of March 10th organ concert, all concerts are FREE.
Sunday, October 23 at 3 pm – The Cozy Side of Beethoven performed by Libero Canto. This concert highlights Beethoven’s lesser-known vocal music. Kinga Cserjési, soprano; Kirsten Ott, mezzo soprano; Alonso Jordan Lope, tenor; Peter Ludwig, bass; Nikita Morozov, violinist; Valeriya Sholokhova, cellist; Jason Wirth, pianist.
Sunday, November 20 at 3 pm Duos for Violin & Cello
Susan Heerema, violinist and Lanny Paykin perform works by Reinhold Glière,
Bohuslav Martinů , Handel/Halvorsen, Joseph Haydn.
Friday, December 16 at 7:30 pm – Christmas Concert
Join our Adult & Children’s Choirs, along with our chamber ensemble for some
holiday cheer.
Friday, March 10 at 7 pm—Organ Concert by Kent Tritle
Called “a superb organist” by The New York Times, Kent Tritle performs regularly across the United States and in Europe, and is the organist of the New York Philharmonic. He is also Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, where he leads the Great Music in a Great Space series. We are privileged to have him perform on our newly refurbished pipe organ. Ticketed event—$20.00 - General Admission. $50.00 VIP:: Wine & Cheese at 6 PM - Meet the Artist - Choir loft seating.

Sunday, April 23 at 3pm— “A Night at the Movies” featuring the Darumanian wind quartet. Oboe-Ellen Willner, Clarinet-Mitchell Kriegler, Bassoon-Atsuko Sato, Horn-Francisco Donaruma. Music includes “Elvira Madagan “1967 & “The Girl with the Hat Box” 1926.
Sunday, May 21 at 3 pm – Broadway Review
Back for our fifth season, our professional cantors and section leaders will present traditional to contemporary Broadway songs. Special performance by our Children’s Choir.
Friday, June 2 at 7:30 pm – “Songs & Reflections For Peace 4” Our Adult & Children’s Choirs with our chamber ensemble explore themes of peace.
