Our Mission

The Concert Series at St. Monica, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, St. Stephen of Hungary was created in 2019 with the intention of providing a platform that features established and emerging musical artists to the Yorkville area. Now in our fifth season, we hope to further grow the series and continue to provide a musical, cultural hub that will benefit our community from the very young to the very old.

Admission is free, but donations are warmly accepted.

2025 - 2026

 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2025 at 3PM – The London Trio (Flute, Violin, Cello)

Autumn in NY - The Gilded Age - Imbued in the tradition of Franz Joseph Haydn, father of the symphony, the London Trio sets out to explore the music of the gilded age of the United States (1870-1914) where symphonic music and parlor music express the climate of an era through cowboy songs, opera, and ragtime, inevitably shaping the American soundscape.

 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2025 at 3PM – Victoria Cannizzo, Soprano with Jane Steele, Pianist

Pace non trovo - From bel canto to verismo including works by Verdi & Liszt. Join us for an afternoon of our favorite repertoire inspired by works of poetry and prose dealing with love and longing.

 

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2025 at 7PM – The Annual Christmas Concert

Join our Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, and the Chamble Ensemble as they unite to present a festive program of classic holiday carols and beloved Christmas hymns that capture the spirit of hope and celebration. This cherished tradition offers something for all ages—a heartwarming way to embrace the beauty, wonder, and joy of Christmas.  

SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 2026 at 3PM – Olivier Fuchaire, Violin, John Zupan, Piano

Enjoy an afternoon soiree filled with the magic of violin and piano! Olivier Fuchaire (violin) and John Zupan (piano) present a program that blends treasured classics with exciting contemporary works, offering something for every music lover.

 

SUNDAY, APRIL 19, 2026 at 3PM – Robert Radliff, Violin with Sharon Niessen, Pianist
Les Trois Sonates – This recital unites three of the most beloved French sonatas for violin and piano. Ravel sparkles with jazz-inflected elegance, Debussy sings with impressionistic lyricism, and Franck’s monumental Sonata in A crowns the program with sweeping passion and timeless beauty.

SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2026 at 3PM – The Broadway Review

Back for season seven! Enjoy an evening of timeless and contemporary Broadway hits performed by our professional cantors and section leaders, with a delightful guest appearance by our Children’s Choir.

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2026 at 7PM – Songs and Reflections For Peace 

Our Adult Choir, Contemporary Ensemble and Children’s Choirs with our St. Monica Chamber Ensemble continue to explore themes of peace through spoken word and song. Inspirational readings, thoughts, and quotes are interspersed throughout the program read by our lectors.
