LECTORS
A lector is minister of God’s word. In fact the documents of Vatican II tell us that Christ is truly present to us when the Word is proclaimed in the Eucharist. A “reader” is not merely a person who reads at Mass. A reader helps God to be present to others in the proclamation of the Word.
The reader is asked to proclaim the word of God so that it might be received in prayerful appreciation of God’s word.
