About the event
This seminar of four meetings of one and a half hours (1.5 hours) each will offer the participants an opportunity to reflect on and share their experience of the Coronavirus/Covid-19. While recalling the onset of the pandemic in NYC on March 1, 2020, we will examine the personal, social, emotional, spiritual/religious dimensions as they developed and have been experienced individually and communally. The experience of social distancing, masking, isolation, and engaging with doctors or family members and friends have provoked a great deal of discussion and necessitated changes in personal habits and proved challenging and stressful to many. In addition, the understanding, desirability, and availability of the Covid-19 vaccine had brought with it extended discussion, confusion, rancor and conversely protection, security and peace to the public. Throughout our discussion we will look to the media, science, personal experience and sacred scripture and prayer as we explore the meaning and relevance of the pandemic and its manifestations in our lives and world.
